The citizens of China can use WeChat for all the purposes including sending messages, transferring money, booking a cab, reading the news etc. But a person cannot discuss and politically sensitive topics in an individual chat or a group chat. A research group in China has been working a new topic named censorship and been analyzing on the gigantic messaging service WeChat. This app is a well famous one in China of about eight hundred million users. The report shows that how the censors work and get updated as the criteria of sensitive material evolves.

The WeChat performs the censorship on the server side, which means all the messages will be sent over the app which is passing through a remote server that contains the protocols for implementing the censorship. If a message includes a keyword that has been aimed at blocking, the entire message will not be sent.  The experts tested a series of constraining terms by making a great effort to send messages from a list of articles which belongs to international and Chinese news sites.

By using this methodology, the experts identified a specific keyword combination that gets blocked by the Chinese gigantic messaging service WeChat. Most of these combinations contain the name of an attorney affected by the crackdown. All these combinations exception of one, are censored only in group chat. This is the best proof to show that Chinese censors continue to be eventually concerned about the sensitive issues and they are ready to accept the criticism between the individuals.

China’s government has the surveillance machine in each and every part of its place. This technology is greatly focused on the public Wi-Fi and latest model of the Smartphones uses it well. The Chinese authorities are mainly concentrating on the enterprises and the locations that offer public Wi-Fi to install the surveillance technology so that the activities of the users can be recorded. It is one of the important online safety protection measures. According to a recent report, the new protocols require the government approved tools can be bought and installed on all non-residential Wi-Fi networks in the zonal areas. The same set of protocols is rolled out in other parts of China giving a statement that it is a part of the nationwide initiative. Under those regulations, an organization must record and retain the user’s details like login time, logout time, caller ID, port number, account number, IP address etc.

The internet websites visiting time must also be recorded and retained using the special safety equipment holding onto the records for more than sixty days. These measures are implemented so that it will prevent the people who are breaking the rules and regulations from using the internet to carry out the terrorist activities, spread rumors, and other illegal content etc.

The China’s great firewall has blocked several threat sites so that the users cannot access it at on any cause. A recent report says that China restricts the politically sensitive information on the social media app WeChat. The blocking of the data in these apps takes place based on the keyword censorship and it will be kept on updating after a certain period of time, which is an automatic process. Some of the words and the images are connected to the event of 709 Crackdown. This event is nothing but where the Chinese attorneys and the firm employees were detained by the Chinese authorities.

The WeChat censorship related to the server side which contains the keywords and the images are related to the 709 Crackdown. There is no any warning symbol about a message being blocked; it just does not appear on the receiver’s side. The Chinese social media platforms implement the information controls on politically sensitive data in a systematic manner. It is said to be that the social media such as WeChat and Weibo is a dynamic one and are totally reactive to the events happening at the present. The keyword blacklists will be updated in a database.

An unknown fact is that if a citizen of China wants a loan then it totally depends on their Smartphone. This information is seriously a true and not a fake one. As in China, there is no any reliable credit history system and the expectations of the data privacy are also a minute one. The Chinese Financial Technology startups have initialized some unconventional procedures whether a person should be given a loan or not.

According to a report, a leading app collects over thousand two hundred data points which are not a traditional one in order to collect predict the credit scoring, generates over one lakhs risk scenarios in a short interval of time on each loan applicant. The part of the scoring is totally based on what Smartphone a person uses and how many calls they fail to answer.

After running millions of loan applications a statement has been given that the iPhone users tend to have payment rates comparatively lower than that of the Android phone users and the folks who don’t respond to the answer calls or the calls go unanswered represent a fraud risk.

There are also many changes when filling in the application, letting the batteries become low powered one and also changing the phones frequently. The multiple applications from a single hot spot are in totally a danger sign. The folk who spend in one place but spend in another location is totally at the poorer risk.

After undergoing a series of unauthorized internet connections, China has started a new unit including a set of tools which is known to be the VPN (Virtual Private Network) that can support the China’s s efforts to control the web. The Information Technology’s main aim is to form the backbone of the country’s internet service provider market.  The internet service providers which are outlawed operate the cross-border channel business. The statement is a bit of rarity one and the country has usually moved on from the canvassing against the VPN use as the government censors tried to restrain the access to them in the past.  However, China has been steadily giving a pressure control over the internet.

A few days ago, the county expanded its reach to the local app stores operating in the country by forcing them in order to register with the government. The steps taken against the VPNs will be alarming to the domestic and the business users in China who depends on them to access the internet unfiltered one. The popular social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, and Twitter have been restricted in the country due to China’s strict censorship that aims the anti-government views.

The sites such as SaferVPN, Express VPN etc have subscription based services for around ten dollars a month or even less. Despite the China’s censorship, these enterprises are constantly increasing with the unique ways so that the folks can access the unfiltered internet.  The enterprises that need to unburden access to the internet will be affected if the local provider decides not to provide the access. The investigation has yet to be started for the clarification of the failing content delivery networks.
